Democracy Week joins the European Network: European Local Democracy Week

An Official Partner in European Local Democracy Week (ELDW)

After the success of last year’s event, Democracy Week in Kristiansand has now joined the European network of European Local Democracy Week (ELDW). This recognition makes Kristiansand the only city in Norway to have received partner status as a "Partner of the European Local Democracy Week 2024”. This honor comes after an evaluation of the city's efforts to promote local democracy through various activities and initiatives.

European Local Democracy Week (ELDW) is an annual event organized by local authorities from 46 member countries of the Council of Europe. The goal of ELDW is to encourage democratic participation at the local level by hosting events and initiatives that strengthen democratic societies.

With its new status as a partner, Democracy Week in Kristiansand now has the opportunity to collaborate with European cities and regions, while also gaining increased recognition for its efforts to promote democratic participation on a European scale.
