Welcome speech by the Head of the 17th of May committee, Abdullahi Mohamed Alason.

All the school bands play, and everyone sings one verse of the national anthem of Norway, "Ja, vi elsker dette landet". Speech of the day by Vilde Torsvik and Melina Løvland Tobiassen, respectively deputy chair and secretary of the 7th grade student council at Karl Johans Minne School. Mathias Lundal, chair of the 7th grade student council at Karl Johans Minne School, lays flowers at the statue of the King. Ends with everyone singing one verse of "Norge i rødt, hvitt og blått". Kristiansand and Grim school band plays to the out march of the parade.

The vehicles must continue straight ahead along Kongens gate when the parade is finished!

Arkivet Peace and Human Rights Centre, the democracy project Blanke Ark and Mangfoldshuset i Agder invite everyone to an open 17 May celebration from 18:00 to 21:00. 

The programme includes speeches, wreath-laying, community singing, a mini concert, and traditional games such as tin-can toss and sack races. Light refreshments will be served.
